The Betty Bowl
Monday, February 8th, 2010 by BlairIf you were like the millions of North Americans watching the Super Bowl last night, then you weren’t actually watching the Super Bowl. No, you were watching for the commercials. What’s wrong with that? Nothing.
Every year advertisers spend millions for the ability to show off their products and services to the Super Bowl’s massive audience. This means they have to come up with a way to appeal to every single person that’s watching. Easier said than done.
There does seem to be 1 special ingredient to make your message stick; laughter. If you can make your audience laugh, odds are you’ll get their attention. That’s why, drum roll please, last night’s best commercial goes to Snickers.
With a dash of Betty White, and a pinch of aggression, this recipe had many rolling off of their chairs:
Video Matters, Even If It’s Not Watched
Wednesday, February 3rd, 2010 by BlairDoes that title make sense to you? It probably doesn’t. The perception is that a video must be viewed in order to help push the products and services of a company – while this is true there is more to the equation. The presence of video pushes your products and services.
There are a couple of new case studies that have shown that simply having the video AVAILABLE on the product/service page can increase conversion rates. That’s incredible. Essentially it increases your credibility without physically saying anything.
To view the case studies, click here.
Consider this for a moment, if the presence of video increases conversion rates, think about what the video itself will do when viewed.
Google; Not To Be Out Done
Wednesday, February 3rd, 2010 by BlairThe great thing about technology is how quickly things progress. If you so much as blink you can miss the latest fad. Google, who has been in the news recently for many reasons, is a company that recognizes this and aims to continue it’s entrance into the hardware market; enter the Google Chrome Tablet.
It should be stressed that it’s simply a concept, but at what point do you think the words, “C’est la vie!” enter Steve Jobs’ vocabulary?
